About Us
Harry and Jorganna Trachtenberg
After growing up in Boone and Boca Raton, FL and meeting at Wake Forest, Harry and Jorganna married and settled in South Florida to raise their two children, Abigail and Max. Harry’s mom, Shirley, owned the local Sock Stop for 26 years, and friends and family would stop by to visit and chat. After Shirley’s passing in 2016, Harry and Jorganna decided to purchase a cabin that would provide an anchor to Boone for their extended family. Over the next few years, their dream expanded into 4 cabins and an Event Barn, creating an unforgettable spot for family and friends to get together to relax and unwind.
Kari Brown
Kari is our wonderful neighbor and keeps everything amazing (managing her cleaning crew, holiday decor, supplies, flower arrangements, and will always jump in to help). She and her husband Daniel own and manage C&J Christmas Tree Farm that is adjacent to Wildwind, so please thank them for the amazing views! Her children Kaleigh and Brayden also assist so please wave if you see them at the farm.
Zach Thompson
Owner of Mountaineer Maintenance, Zach handles all of our lawn maintenance needs. Go Mountaineers!
Mike Wheeler
Grew up in Watauga County. Retired Navy Veteran. Lived and traveled around the world. Raised three successful adult sons. Enjoy maintaining the cabins at Wildwind Retreat.
Eric Smith
Local craftsman Eric Smith built all of the bunk beds in the cabins, as well as some of the decor.
The Brown Family
It’s a family affair as Daniel supplies firewood, and he and the kids jump in to help seasonally. Send them a wave if you see them from across the yard!
